Terms of Service

Welcome to Auto Restore, your trusted provider of auto detailing and car restoration services in Australia. These Terms of Service ("Terms") outline the agreement between you (the "Client" or "you") and Auto Restore (the "Company," "we," "us," or "our") regarding the services we provide. By booking, scheduling, or using our services, you agree to these Terms in full. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia, including the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth). Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights you may have under the ACL.
1. Services
- We provide auto detailing (interior and exterior cleaning, polishing, waxing, etc.) and car restoration services (paint correction, upholstery repair, engine bay cleaning, etc.) as described on our website or in your booking confirmation.
- Services are performed on a best-efforts basis. Results may vary based on the vehicle's age, condition, and prior maintenance. We do not guarantee 100% removal of stains, scratches, pet hair, or other imperfections.
- We reserve the right to modify services if necessary (e.g., due to vehicle condition) and will notify you of any changes.
- For mobile services, you must provide access to water, electricity, and a safe working area. If not available, additional fees may apply or services may be rescheduled.
2. Bookings and Deposits
- Bookings can be made via phone, email, website, or in person. All bookings require confirmation from us.
- A deposit of 50% of the total service cost is required to secure your booking. Deposits are non-refundable if you cancel within 48 hours of the scheduled service, except where required by law.
- We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule bookings due to weather, staff availability, or other unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, we will offer a full refund or alternative date.
3. Payments
- Full payment is due upon completion of services, unless otherwise agreed.
- We accept cash, credit/debit cards, bank transfer, or other methods as specified.
- Overdue payments may incur late fees of $25 per day. Unpaid invoices may result in suspension of future services.
- All prices include GST and are subject to change. Any additional work (e.g., due to excessive dirt or add-ons) will be quoted and approved by you before proceeding.
4. Client Responsibilities
- Remove all personal belongings, valuables, and child seats from the vehicle before services begin. We are not responsible for lost, damaged, or misplaced items.
- Inform us of any pre-existing damage, mechanical issues, or sensitivities (e.g., allergies to products) prior to service.
- Ensure the vehicle is accessible and in a safe condition for work. For restoration services, provide accurate details about the vehicle's history.
- If keys are provided, you authorise us to operate and move the vehicle as needed during the service.
5. Time Limits and Completion
- Service times are estimates based on your selected package (e.g., Basic Detail: 2-3 hours; Full Restoration: 6-8 hours). Actual time may vary.
- Upon completion, we will notify you for inspection and collection. Vehicles must be collected within 7 days or storage fees of $25 per day may apply.
- We reserve a lien over the vehicle until all fees are paid, as permitted under Australian law.
6. Liability and Warranties
We take all reasonable care but are not liable for:
- Pre-existing damage, wear and tear, or defects revealed during cleaning (e.g., hidden scratches under dirt).
- Temporary faults from engine bay detailing (e.g., due to water exposure; performed at your risk).
- Damage from poor-fitting parts, electrical issues, or client negligence.
- Loss of personal items or accidents related to improperly reinstalled items (e.g., child seats).
Our liability is limited to the service cost. We are not responsible for indirect losses (e.g., loss of use). Services are warranted for 7 days against defects in workmanship. Notify us immediately for rectification.
7. Consumer Guarantees
- Under the ACL, our services come with guarantees that they will be provided with due care and skill, fit for purpose, and completed in a reasonable time.
- If we fail to meet these guarantees, your remedies may include repair, replacement, or refund (at our election), subject to ACL limits.
- For major failures, you may choose a refund or replacement. For minor issues, we will remedy at our cost.
8. Cancellations and Refunds
- You may cancel with 48 hours notice for a full refund (minus deposit if applicable).
- No refunds for completed services, except under ACL rights.
- We may refuse or terminate services if you are abusive, unreasonable, or violate these Terms.
9. Feedback and Marketing
- We may use photos of your vehicle (without personal details) for marketing purposes.
- Provide feedback via our contact channels. We value your input.
10. Changes to Terms
- We may update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on our website. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
